North Beach
Al Robles, far left, poet and community activist, watches players at the Lucky M pool hall, one of the last remnants of Manilatown, the sliver of a neighborhood at the edge of Chinatown that was home to Filipino Americans and the businesses that served them from the 1920s through the late 1970s. Robles was key in the fight to save the International Hotel.
