North Beach

Henri Lenoir, born in 1904 in Switzerland, in 1948 founded the landmark Vesuvio Café on Columbus Avenue that was frequented by Beat authors, including Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Lenoir also was a successful art collector.
